Vòltia& Rotonda

A family of four transformable seats for Sofable by Mantellassi — Vòltia, Vòltia Pro, Rotonda and Rotonda Slim. The brief asked for an upholstered armchair for shared spaces; the answer pushes on technical materials, visible mechanisms and a versatility that makes each piece an icon for any space.

Brief

Sofable by Mantellassi asked for one of three products — a screen, a coffee table or an armchair — following precise guidelines consistent with the brand. The armchair had to be upholstered, with a discreet wood or metal base, suited to shared spaces, with a profile inspired by the new logo or an innovative removable cover.

The choice

An armchair and chaise longue that interprets the client's requests boldly: it pushes on innovative materials and finishes, and on a versatility able to transform it — making it an icon for any space.

01 — Vòltia

It turns, like whoever sits on it

An elegant, contemporary name that recalls turning, movement and transformation — the gesture of changing position, just as the armchair does. A technical aesthetic meets a playful side, through generous volumes and visible rotations.

A headrest borrowed from the car

The natural evolution of Vòltia: the same distinctive look and high-quality technical materials, with more function for an even more complete comfort. Vòltia Pro adds an adjustable headrest with a mechanism inspired by car seats — intuitive, robust and made to adapt to different postures and heights.

Equally at home in a living room or a hotel lounge

It fits naturally into homes and public spaces — contemporary living rooms, hotel lounges, waiting areas, exhibition spaces — bringing together function and stage presence.

03 — Rotonda

Soft outside, transformable inside

A playful, soft, modern armchair, almost sculptural, entirely upholstered in a rubberised technical material. The name recalls its rounded shape and the rotation of its parts: three hinges extend the footrest, headrest and armrests. A wink at Playmobil and Transformers, blending looks and surprise in a single gesture.

Materials & finishes

The feel of a motorcycle seat

Rotonda is covered in a rubbery technical fabric made for daily use and easy to look after. Waterproof and washable, it recalls the texture of motorcycle seats, for a futuristic, resistant look.

For spaces that dare

Designed for unconventional settings — creative spaces, showrooms, concept stores, contract interiors, homes with a pop, experimental taste. Not an armchair for everyone, but for those looking for a strong sign that defines a space.

04 — Rotonda Slim

Same soul, smaller size

The compact version of Rotonda keeps its iconic, playful shape but drops the extending armrests, becoming slimmer and suited to smaller rooms. The legs get shorter, the space gets bigger.
